Your trip begins when we pick you up in the morning and you begin a very comfortable ride to a unique appellation within 90 mins from you. We'll take you to 2 of the most representative wineries of the area which have been carefully hand-selected by us together with our oenophile friends of the area over years. With a family style lunch in the middle to recharge the batteries, you'll get a profound look into why this area is so special.
I'll be with you all day to ensure you get the most out of the visits and tastings and we'll even set you up with dinner reservations at the end of the day.

As a guest of Phil and Geneviève, the family run wineries will welcome you to their vineyards for a truly unique experience you will not receive on any other generic wine tour. This is a wonderful opportunity for any wine enthusiast to meet and talk with some of the best winemakers in France in a beautiful and casual setting.

WHAT'S SO SPECIAL
Pic Saint-Loup
It is said that great wines are born in beautiful places. This region is no exception to the rule. Here, the Pic Saint-Loup (658 m) and the Hortus mountain (520 m) face each other. Real skyscrapers in the middle of the scrubland, they can be seen from afar and they open the door to the Cévennes. In addition to embellishing the landscape, these two giants channel the region's winds, cool the vines after sunset and hold back the clouds. The microclimate of the valley offers a rare thermal excursion of up to 20 degrees centigrade between night and day. These strong variations, linked to the limestone tips of the peak offer an ideal terroir for the Syrah which dominates here. The wines are deep, surprisingly fresh and suitable for aging.
Les Baux de Provence
Located on either side of the Alpilles mountain range, a veritable mountain range that dominates the landscape, the vines here are in great competition with olive growing, offering visitors a beautiful postcard of Provence. The appellation only produces reds and rosés. The former are fleshy and powerful and the rosés are particularly fruity. Both wines can wait a few years in the cellar.
Chateauneuf du Pape
Châteauneuf-du-Pape was the first appellation in France to receive AOC classification in 1936. It is known for the remarkable diversity of its soils. The appellation counts four different terroirs originating from three distinctive geological eras: limestone fragments, rolled pebbles, sandy soils and red sandstones. This geological diversity provides a complex aromatic palette and great flavor richness to the wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, which are renowned worldwide for their finesse and elegance.
Luberon
The Luberon vineyards extends over the massif of the same name, in the heart of the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, a natural wonder. This limestone massif, 200 to 450 metres above sea level, although so Provençal with its lavender fields and Mediterranean climate, benefits from a real Alpine influence. It is therefore cooler there than in many Rhône appellations. Its area is bordered by two rivers: the Coulon (or Calavon) to the north and the Durance to the south. There are rather lively and elegant whites, gourmet reds and especially rosés with aromas of strawberry and redcurrant that smell of summer in full.

Please note our tours are active holidays. Walking, stair-climbing and standing around for lengthy periods are unavoidable aspects of every tour. These features should not present problems for anyone of normal fitness, but our tours and events are not suitable for those who walk slowly, need support, or lack stamina. Please read our Tour Fitness page before booking.
